The origin of matcha lies in Japan, the tea country par excellence! This green tea has a thorough and careful production process in which the tea leaves are picked, steamed and ground into powder.
Matcha has a bright green colour, indicating the presence of the detoxifying compound chlorophyll. Besides chlorophyll, Classic Matcha contains trace amounts of vitamins A, C and E, as well as calcium, potassium and iron.
Matcha is a caffeine-rich drink (23 mg/1 g) and thus contributes to increased energy and alertness. It's an important source of antioxidants.
Add 3g of matcha to 200ml of soy or rice drink for a shake, or 1g to 70-100ml of near-hot water for an invigorating tea. Add some extra punch to smoothies, juices or lattés with a scoop of Classic Matcha!
